COVID 19 Communique from Mental Health Reform Victoria and the Mental Health and Drug Branch

7 April 2020
The Mental Health and Drugs Branch (MHDB) and Mental Health Reform Victoria (MHRV) are working in collaboration on the response and recovery approach for COVID-19.

Mental health support services  are regarded as essential services. Services will provide essential support for clients to manage their anxiety and the day to day challenges of physical distancing and isolation measures.

Many people with a severe mental illness are already vulnerable and COVID-19 will create even additional distress, social isolation and loss of connection. Mental health services are now more critical than ever.

The communique provides information which will be relevant to MHCSS services during this unprecedented time.
