A labour hire provider is a business that supplies a worker, or workers to work for another business or person. Funded organisations engaging labour hires for residential care, disability services or other services, should have applied for a licence within the six-month transition period, which commenced in April of this year. Organisations who have not done so will be prohibited from providing labour services from 30 October 2019. Unlicensed labour hire providers can face substantial fines.
Providers can now apply for a licence through the Labour Hire Licensing Online portal.
