A new document, Practice advice to support young people in Care Services during coronavirus (COVID-19) has been prepared for carers, residential care workers, lead tenant volunteers (volunteers) and case managers to support children and young people in care to comply with Chief Health Officer directions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Supporting young people in care services to comply with coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions practice advice has been developed to support:

  • Working with young people in supporting them to follow current restrictions.
  • Ensuring young people who need to isolate or quarantine are supported to do so.
  • Educating young people on the potential impacts on themselves and others if they don’t follow the restrictions.
  • Providing guidance for police involvement and/or other impacts due to non-compliance
